FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Orlando, Florida – The Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF) elected Karl Dickey of Boca Raton as its new chairman during the political party’s annual convention this past weekend. Mr. Dickey ran unopposed and won by acclimation.

Also elected was Boca Raton resident Neil Evangelista as the Party’s Vice-Chair and two “At-Large” positions were filled. Also elected was Boca Raton resident Neil Evangelista as the Party’s Vice-Chair and two “At-Large Director ” positions were filled.

Mr. Dickey said this morning, “I am looking forward to raising the standards of the LPF to a more professional, educational, and respected organization. I look forward to increasing the presence of Libertarians in Florida with enhanced communications to our affiliates, updating the Party’s website, increasing college activism, and running Libertarian candidates at all levels of government in Florida.”

Mr. Dickey set several goals to be achieved by various committees and individuals of the organization. If such goals are achieved he expects the number of registered Libertarians to double over the next two years, there should be at least 30 candidates running for public office in 2008 as Libertarians, and the public will be well educated in understanding the benefits of Libertarianism in their own personal lives.

Libertarians believe in and pursue, personal freedom while encouraging personal responsibility.
